SaaS Provider Bazaarvoice Selects Data Foundry's Texas 1 Data Center

Austin, Texas – June 13, 2012 – Data Foundry, a leading provider of wholesale and retail data center services, announces today that Austin-based Bazaarvoice (NASDAQ: BV), a global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider, has selected the Texas 1 data center to house its core IT infrastructure. Data Foundry was selected because of its 18-year operating history and unparalleled track record in the data center industry.

Bazaarvoice is an industry-leading social software and data analytics company, helping clients to create, syndicate, and derive actionable insights from online word-of-mouth. With business booming internationally, the company needed to relocate their IT infrastructure into a data center that would provide consistent power, networking, and cooling, as well as room for additional growth. After evaluating a number of top-tier data center operators, Data Foundry was selected because of Texas 1’s world-class feature set and the company’s exemplary reputation in the market. Data Foundry’s Texas 1 data center offers the full redundancy and reliability Bazaarvoice was looking for, with independent and diverse power, water, and network feeds providing no single point of failure and the ability to scale as needed.

“We want the best for our company, and we are very pleased with our choice in Data Foundry and their new facility,” states Rich Robinson, VP of Business Technology at Bazaarvoice. “The Data Foundry team has been highly responsive and has exceeded our expectations. We take comfort in knowing that our core IT infrastructure is in good hands.”

The Texas 1 data center boasts redundancy at every level, but its redundant power infrastructure is what really stood out to Bazaarvoice during their evaluation process. The facility is fed by two independent feeds from two separate 400 Megawatt-capable substations. The design also showcases an end-to-end underground power feed enclosed in a concrete duct bank – a very rare feature for modern data centers. These dual feeds enter the facility via diverse paths and continue independently to connect to multiple UPS rooms throughout the entire facility, making Texas 1’s power design both fault tolerant and 100% concurrently maintainable.

“Our clients have high expectations for uptime and scalability. When designing Texas 1, Bazaarvoice was exactly the type of new client we had in mind,” explains Shane Menking, President of Data Foundry. “We realize that the SaaS industry is experiencing significant growth, and as Bazaarvoice’s IT infrastructure demands grow, they can quickly scale within Texas 1, while maintaining the 100% availability and uptime their customers require.”
