SAS 70 Audit Compliance Announced by Data Foundry

January 15, 2008 — Data Foundry, an industry leading disaster recovery and data center services provider located in Austin, Texas, publicly announced today the successful completion of a type II SAS 70 audit of Data Foundry’s control activities and processes.

Data Foundry’s successful SAS 70 audit helps its customers conform to regulatory compliance standards such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, HIPAA, and the Financial Modernization Act of 1999.

The SAS 70 audit independently verifies the validity and functionality of Data Foundry’s control activities and processes. These control activities and processes are important to Data Foundry’s customers within the financial services, healthcare, and insurance industries, as well as to publicly traded companies who must verify the safety of their financial information controls.

SAS 70 auditing is a long and expensive process, yet independent verification of the important controls and processes which help define security, privacy, and availability is important to data center customers around the world.

“Throughout Data Foundry’s 14 year history the company has strived and succeeded in providing peace of mind for its concerned data center customers. We understand how serious and necessary security and processes are, and we are proud to publicly add SAS 70 auditing to the list of qualities that distinguish Data Foundry within our industry,” said Shane Menking, President of Data Foundry.

SAS 70 was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as an auditing standard to assess service provider’s information technology controls. The audit evaluates several aspects of a provider’s controls such as physical and logical security, system availability, processing integrity, privacy and confidentiality.
