Data Foundry Launches Texas Technology Policy Scorecard

Scorecards will offer expert tech take on key legislation

AUSTIN, Texas — February 13, 2017 — Data Foundry today launched the Texas Technology Policy Scorecard in an effort to provide thoughtful, technical expertise on all cyber and privacy- related issues that are often overlooked by legislators and the media.

“The need for closer attention to the potential impact of technology on society is very important,” said Ron Yokubaitis, CEO and Co-Founder of Data Foundry. “That is why we have created the Texas Technology Policy Scorecard, to provide a non-partisan, insider’s take on the real effects some technology policy can have on people’s lives.”

Mr. Yokubaitis, a longtime consumer and industry advocate for data privacy, cybersecurity, and the open Internet said, “I hope the media and legislators view this as a helpful tool when considering legislation.” Mr. Yokubaitis added the content for the policy scorecards are analyzed and drafted by technology industry veterans, along with state legislative experts to ensure the scorecards will have accurate and up to date information.

The scorecards will be available on Data Foundry’s Advocacy hub, which will feature position papers, and blogs that will cover a range of tech issues. Data Foundry’s hope is that the Advocacy hub will be a helpful resource in promoting the tech industry’s engagement in the state’s policy-making process.
