COVID-19 Customer Update

200318 customer response

As we monitor the COVID-19 situation developing around the world, our top priority is to maintain the health and safety of our employees, clients and community members while maintaining a consistent level of client service. We wanted to reach out to you to provide an update on what Data Foundry is doing in the wake of the current events.

Data Foundry is continuing to follow all recommended applicable precautions suggested by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). This includes directing our employees and cleaning staff to follow CDC recommendations for environmental cleaning and disinfection, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Additionally, employees are being asked to practice recommended Hygiene and Social Distancing at our facilities. Those employees in non-essential roles conducive to working remote are doing so.

Data Foundry is in constant communication with all employees to ensure they are up-to-date on this evolving situation. We have directed all employees who are ill or who have family in their homes who are exhibiting any symptoms of respiratory illness to self-quarantine and take appropriate time off. To date, we have no reports of employee exposure to COVID-19.

As of March 17, the City of Austin has prohibited gatherings of 10 or more persons. However, as part of that ordinance, the City has ordered critical infrastructure to continue operating, and encouraged the implementation of critical screening precautions. Data Foundry data centers are in the critical infrastructure category, and we have decided to implement the City’s recommended critical screening at all data centers we operate in Austin and are applying these procedures at our data centers in Houston.

Data Foundry will no longer allow access to any data centers by any employees, customers, contractors, vendors, or visitors who fall within any of the following criteria:

  • Are sick;
  • Have a fever greater than 99.6°F;
  • Have had contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19; or
  • Have traveled internationally to countries with travel warnings since February 1, 2020.

Details of the screening process are still being developed. However, customers should not come to any site if they meet any of the above criteria, or they should expect to be denied entry if we deem that they do.

Data Foundry will do all that we can to accommodate business needs of our customers, including offering the use of our Remote Hands service, or providing managed services for network, system, and physical infrastructure. However, we will not allow the risk of one person causing disruption for all other critical activities supported by our data centers.

As a reminder, Data Foundry has services available to aid in business operations during this time. Services Available:

  • Expanded Network – Larger Internet for Remote Work Opportunities
  • Remote Hands – 24x7 Support, Expert On-Site Staff

For additional information and support, please reach out to your Data Foundry representative.

We are committed to staying connected with you as we all navigate these unprecedented times.
