Redundant From The Substation To Your Server
Multiple levels of redundancy are built into every level Texas 1′s power infrastructure. From the substations to distribution within the data center, we created the most reliable power infrastructure to guarantee your business is up and running 24x7x365.
Redundant and Independent by Design
Texas 1 Redundant Power FeedsIndependent Substations
Texas 1′s redundant power feeds are supplied by separate 400 MW-capable substations. Each substation is powered by independent power plants on the ERCOT electric grid, with each power plant utilizing diverse power generation resources.
Independent Feeds
Texas 1′s redundant power feeds enter the Data Ranch campus via diverse paths and connect to separate transformers on the property. From the transformers, the feeds continue on diverse paths are are connected to separate rooms in Texas 1.

Underground Feeds
For added reliability, Data Foundry built a dedicated, end-to-end, concrete reinforced underground feed.
Reliable Power for Uninterrupted Operations
Texas 1′s power design is 100% concurrently maintainable, preventing your equipment from ever being at risk during maintenance. Featuring an isolated redundant design enhanced with dual utility feeds to every power module, this unique system prevents cascading failures that are inherent in a standard paralleling generator design used by many data centers. In the unlikely event of a commercial power failure or catastrophic event, the Texas 1 data center has multiple UPS and generator systems coupled with on-site fuel storage to ensure uninterrupted operation.
We’ll prove the reliability of our systems with a one line diagram, schedule a tour with us today.

100% Concurrently Maintainable
- Our “catcher” system keeps your equipment running on UPS during normal operations, maintenance and the unlikely event of a commercial power failure
- A UPS protected maintenance bypass bus allows wholesale primary UPS maintenance, so your equipment never relies on utility power
- All power distribution equipment is located in service galleries keeping maintenance activities isolated from your servers
Redundant Distribution
- Each UPS room has two incoming power feeds
- Each UPS room feeds are routed via diverse paths
- UPS room feeds deliver true A/B power to servers
Safety in Design
- Each UPS system resides in an isolated, secured room
- Each generator is fully enclosed in air conditioned bays
- Concrete encased rooms protect each generator by isolating potential threats to a single room
