Executive Management

Carolyn Yokubaitis, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

Ron Yokubaitis, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

It was 1994 – the early days of the Internet – when Carolyn Yokubaitis and Ron Yokubaitis embarked upon an entrepreneurial adventure and co-founded Texas.net, one of the first 50 ISPs in the US, in response to the lack of Internet access options for those who were not a student or government employee.

Offering data storage and server functionality since its inception in 1994, the business has grown and evolved into a multi-faceted company, developing and operating multiple Internet-related businesses including a global Usenet Newsgroups service with subscribers in more than 195 countries, maintaining several petabytes of data storage.

To this day, Data Foundry’s subsidiary Texas.net is an active ISP still owned, operated and managed by Carolyn and Ron. Carolyn and Ron are active co-CEOs for Data Foundry, and also serve as members on the board of directors for Data Foundry.

Ed has been programming since age 11. Soon after graduating college with a physics degree, he met the Yokubaitis family online, and learned they were starting an ISP in San Antonio. With a desire to be involved, Ed came on board at the company’s infancy in 1994 as employee #1. Ed is also a shareholder.

Shane Menking, President and CFO

Shane was first introduced to Texas.net in 1996 as an Internet service subscriber. While working as an auditor for Arthur Andersen, he led the engagement team that completed Texas.net’s financial statement audits during 1998 and 1999. He joined the company in February 2000, serving a role with a primary focus on Data Foundry’s business development. Prior to rejoining the company in 2005 as President and Chief Financial Officer, Shane served as President and Chief Financial Officer of USOL Holdings, Inc. (d/b/a US Online) from February 2001 through March 2005. While at US Online, Shane organized a management-led reorganization and sale of the company. Following the wind-down of US Online, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to return to Data Foundry and work with the Yokubaitis family.
